Removing Common Stains with StainGo

Removing Common Stains

For general stains other than those listed below.

1 Place a soft white cloth or absorbent paper underneath the stain where possible.  Hold the bottle upright and spray StainGo on to the stain.

2 Wait one minute then work StainGo into the stain by gently rubbing, in small circular movements, with the front end of the spray nozzle.  Avoid aggressive rubbing. Wipe spray nozzle clean after each use. For extra-delicate fabrics rub with a soft white cloth instead of the spray nozzle.

3 Dab wet surface by pressing firmly on the stain with white paper towel.

4 Repeat process until stain disappears.  Extra-stubborn stains may require repeated applications.

5 Allow to dry naturally or wash as normal.

Helpful hints to get the best results

Because of the way StainGo works, it is better to let some stains dry before attempting to remove them.  However greasy and oily stains should be treated as soon as possible.

If the stain is hard or crusty, scrape it to remove any excess before applying StainGo.

If the stain is particularly stubborn, let StainGo soak in before working on it again.

Avoid aggressive rubbing which can damage fabric.

Repeat applications on stubborn stains.  In extreme cases, allow up to 2 hours in between treatments to let StainGo penetrate the stain.

Do not rush the stain removal process as many stains require time for StainGo to react with the stain and lift it from the fabric.

Do not wash with detergent before stain is removed as this can “set” the stain, making removal impossible.

Time taken to remove stains

Different fabrics have different “release times”.  100% polyester usually releases stains quickly. A polyester-cotton blend usually takes a little longer and 100% cotton takes considerably longer to release stains because cotton fibre is very hollow.  Don’t assume StainGo isn’t working if the stain you are trying to remove does not disappear immediately. Be patient. In most cases it is better to let the stain dry before you remove it. If the stain is particularly stubborn, soak with StainGo for several minutes, then work it again.

Important Instructions and Precaution:

The advice given is only a recommendation and implies no guarantee.  Since reactions may vary from fabric to fabric and with differing compositions, it is advisable to test the fabric in a non-conspicuous area for its suitability to the product prior to treating the stained area.
